Job Description

The role involves leading hardware and software engineering projects from conception to release, managing schedules, risks, and stakeholder communication, primarily in an in-office environment, to drive innovation in data storage technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering projects and releases from conception through deployment
  • Develop and oversee project schedules, milestones, and budgets
  • Coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizational levels
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Develop and improve project management processes, tools, and workflows
  • Communicate project strategy, technical issues, and dependencies effectively to teams and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience in leading engineering projects and releases from conception through release, including managing targeted hardware project schedules with software deliverables, identifying risks, and working directly with stakeholders to alleviate them.
  • Ability to develop and manage project milestones, schedules, and budgets for technical projects or programs.
  • Experience interacting with diverse technical and non-technical groups, including all organizational levels such as executives.
  • Proficiency in developing and driving new processes, recommending tools, or streamlining existing processes related to project management.
  • Exceptional communication skills to understand and communicate project strategy, engineering issues, and dependencies.
  • Experience managing risks and issues and developing mitigation strategies among a cross-functional team of engineers.
  • Technical aptitude demonstrated by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical quantitative fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in project management in hardware and software product releases.
  • Expertise in Agile and Waterfall release processes.
  • Customer service focus with the ability to communicate effectively with highly technical management teams.
  • Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors as a team player and creative thinker.
  • Sound organizational, project management, communication skills, and product lifecycle knowledge.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
  • Willingness to work onsite from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.

Benefits & Perks

Salary range: $170,000 - $255,000 USD
