The role involves leading hardware and software engineering projects from conception to release, managing schedules, risks, and stakeholder communication, primarily in an in-office environment, to drive innovation in data storage technology.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage engineering projects and releases from conception through deployment
Develop and oversee project schedules, milestones, and budgets
Coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across organizational levels
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues
Develop and improve project management processes, tools, and workflows
Communicate project strategy, technical issues, and dependencies effectively to teams and stakeholders
Requirements
Experience in leading engineering projects and releases from conception through release, including managing targeted hardware project schedules with software deliverables, identifying risks, and working directly with stakeholders to alleviate them.
Ability to develop and manage project milestones, schedules, and budgets for technical projects or programs.
Experience interacting with diverse technical and non-technical groups, including all organizational levels such as executives.
Proficiency in developing and driving new processes, recommending tools, or streamlining existing processes related to project management.
Exceptional communication skills to understand and communicate project strategy, engineering issues, and dependencies.
Experience managing risks and issues and developing mitigation strategies among a cross-functional team of engineers.
Technical aptitude demonstrated by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical quantitative fields, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 8 years of experience in project management in hardware and software product releases.
Expertise in Agile and Waterfall release processes.
Customer service focus with the ability to communicate effectively with highly technical management teams.
Ability to lead technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors as a team player and creative thinker.
Sound organizational, project management, communication skills, and product lifecycle knowledge.
Ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
Willingness to work onsite from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
