Job Description
A hands-on site-based role responsible for monitoring and ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency at Nuro's Santa Clara vehicle facility, collaborating with site leadership to identify and address operational gaps and risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily site operations, workforce readiness, and policy adherence
- Conduct observations and audits to identify operational, safety, and managerial gaps
- Administer drug screenings and readiness checks on-site
- Perform audits of attendance, onboarding, training, and documentation quality
- Identify patterns and escalate risks or process breakdowns
- Flag fitness-for-duty concerns and initiate escalation procedures
- Collaborate with managers to implement corrective actions and track follow-up
- Maintain documentation of observations, issues, and trends
- Conduct facility audits and communicate findings to the workplace team
- Assist with post-shift timecard audits and ensure timely submissions
- Lead team feedback sessions and support development of action plans
- Review attrition data and support trend analysis and follow-up
- Leverage AI tools to improve workflows, reporting, and compliance activities
- Provide insights and reports to site leadership and HR on risks and opportunities
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in operations, safety, compliance, or similar site-based roles.
- Experience working in fast-paced or 24/7 environments.
- Strong judgment and ability to operate independently in real-time fluid situations.
- Experience with audits, inspections, or process reviews.
- Ability to identify patterns and root causes across operational issues.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to document and escalate effectively.
- Comfortable influencing without direct authority.
- Professional and discreet in sensitive situations.
- Willingness to work on-site at the Santa Clara, CA Operations Vehicle Facility with occasional off-hours support.
- Experience administering drug tests in a regulated environment, including proper handling, documentation, and compliance with applicable protocols (bonus point).
- Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or similar environments (bonus point).
- Familiarity with safety protocols such as fitness-for-duty and reasonable suspicion (bonus point).
- Experience working cross-functionally with EHS, HR, or Safety teams (bonus point).
- Background in high-growth or scaling environments (bonus point).
