A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts to promote storage and data infrastructure products, ultimately driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to create a seamless customer experience and drive revenue
Demonstrate and communicate the value of Pure Storage products through technical presentations and evaluations
Translate customer requirements into innovative technical solutions to support growth
Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs with technical expertise
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and market landscape to promote thought leadership
Support technical marketing efforts through materials like whitepapers and web presentations
Assist in the installation, configuration, and evaluation of storage and computing architectures
Build and deliver technical demonstrations and benchmarks to showcase product capabilities
Requirements
Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant pre-sales experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Strong public sector domain knowledge across central ministries agencies, independent administrative agencies, municipalities, and education healthcare understanding of decision processes and constraints (preferred).
Experience supporting government procurement processes including RFx, RFI, RFP, specifications support, compliance matrices, Q&A, bid presentations, and evaluation support (preferred).
Ability to collaborate with partner ecosystem including SI partners, cloud providers, and ISVs to align technical architectures with commercial motions.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.
Contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred).
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures (preferred).
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with modern web architecture including LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS Well-Architected Framework, and microservices architecture (preferred).
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Must work from the OFFICE_LOCATION office in compliance with company policies unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle (highly desirable).
