Job Description

The Retail Channel Sales Manager will lead the expansion of Peak Energy's retail power sales in Japan by managing client relationships, negotiating power purchase agreements, and developing market strategies within Japan's deregulated electricity sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead retail electricity sales and negotiate contracts with power retailers and trading houses in Japan
  • Achieve sales and volume targets through strategic client engagement
  • Develop tailored solutions for retail partners and ensure successful contract execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure offers meet risk, compliance, and delivery standards
  • Prepare documentation for feed-in premium and subsidy applications
  • Identify and prioritize retail market opportunities across Japan
  • Monitor regulatory and market changes affecting power sales and retail strategy
  • Represent Peak Energy at industry events to enhance market visibility

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher background in business, energy, finance, or law is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, ideally working in a power retailer or trading house in Japan
  • Proven track record in sales, client management, and negotiating commercial power contracts
  • Familiarity with Japan’s electricity market structure, PPA contractual terms and frameworks, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is preferred
  • High level of self-motivation, independence, and ownership
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in Japanese spoken and written; business-level English is a plus
