The role involves leading U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and supporting tax provision processes within a fast-paced, innovative tech company, requiring strong technical expertise, project management skills, and collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full U.S. federal and state income tax return compliance process, including preparation, review, and timely filing of returns
Oversee extensions, estimated tax calculations and payments, and compliance workflows end-to-end
Coordinate with external service providers to ensure high-quality compliance deliverables
Support the U.S. income tax provision process by preparing and reviewing inputs for quarterly and annual ASC 740 filings
Perform return-to-provision analysis and reconcile tax accounts
Support SOX 404 internal control testing for U.S. income tax processes and maintain documentation
Research complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda
Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate compliance and provision processes
Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate information flow for tax compliance and provision
Support tax considerations related to corporate initiatives, transactions, M&A activity, and planning projects
Requirements
Ten (10) years of corporate tax experience with a Big 4 firm and/or corporate tax department.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.
CPA certification or Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax and ASC 740.
Proven experience owning corporate income tax compliance and supporting income tax provision deliverables.
Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Experience with Alteryx or similar automation data tools is strongly preferred.
Experience with SAP and Zuora is preferred but not required.
