Job Description
The Fleet Technician at Nuro is responsible for maintaining and improving the hardware and software of autonomous vehicle fleets, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance through technical analysis, system development, and collaboration across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement hardware and software system improvements for fleet vehicles
- Perform systems analysis to identify root causes of hardware and software interactions
- Develop and maintain Linux-based tools, scripts, and automation frameworks for fleet monitoring and diagnostics
- Contribute to architectural decisions for autonomous vehicle platforms
- Act as a technical lead for fleet-related initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Establish and maintain technical standards, policies, and best practices for fleet operations
- Develop playbooks and document processes to support autonomous vehicle operations
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and decision records
- Provide technical guidance during complex system incident investigations
- Document the lifecycle of vehicle assets in the fleet management system
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or higher in any related field such as computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Linux, including understanding and writing code.
- Ability to perform hands-on hardware integration, testing, and validation to support autonomous vehicle systems and software-hardware interfaces.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex hardware-software interactions in robotic vehicle systems to support design improvements and system optimization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive and task-driven approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-focused with a passion for continuous learning.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
- Clean driving record.
