The role involves leading the global product environmental compliance program for a data storage company, ensuring products meet international environmental regulations and sustainability standards, and collaborating across teams to embed compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the global product environmental compliance framework, ensuring adherence to regulations like RoHS, REACH, EcoDesign, Conflict Minerals, TSCA, SCIP, POPs, and Packaging Requirements.
Oversee regulatory submissions, data collection, and maintain documentation to ensure timely and accurate reporting to authorities and compliance systems.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to embed compliance and sustainability requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Engage with suppliers to communicate compliance standards, provide training, and ensure supply chain meets environmental and social expectations.
Monitor global regulatory landscape for emerging environmental risks and advise senior management on strategic compliance actions.
Requirements
Advanced Regulatory Command Wide-ranging experience and expertise in managing global product environmental compliance programs within the electronics or hardware OEM sector, with a track record of successfully implementing major global environmental directives such as RoHS, REACH, EcoDesign, SCIP, Conflict Minerals.
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, exercising sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques to obtain results.
Experience in owning and managing complex compliance data, documentation, and processes using environmental compliance data management systems such as CMAP, Assent, BOMcheck, with a strong history of leveraging automation to streamline workflows.
Exceptional ability to influence, train, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal teams including Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain, and external partners such as suppliers and customers, serving as a key contact outside the immediate area of expertise.
Proven ability to define and implement strategic policies, establish new operational procedures, and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, and work plans for the compliance function.
Support for company initiatives to meet voluntary environmental standards and certifications, including EPEAT, TCO Certified, and ECMA-370.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline is required.
A master’s degree or advanced education in engineering, science, or business is a plus.
Ability to work from the Foxconn Manufacturing facility in Houston in an in-office environment, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
