Job Description
The role involves designing and managing land development projects, including site layout, utility, roadway, and drainage design, as well as providing permitting, cost estimation, and project coordination for various types of development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineer’s opinion of probable cost and design calculations
- Develop conceptual site layouts, utility, roadway, and site grading designs
- Conduct soil erosion, sedimentation control, and floodplain studies
- Prepare permit applications and assist with project feasibility, master planning, and engineering design
- Review and prepare project specifications and final construction drawings
- Mentor and assist with training Civil Engineers and delegate project components
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and billing
- Participate in business development and represent the firm at client and municipal meetings
Requirements
- PE license required
- Valid driver s license
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- Six (6) years of experience in land development, residential, industrial, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, educational, and recreational design technical tasks
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Outstanding writing, communications, and interpersonal skills
