Job Description

A Commercial Pre-Sales Systems Engineer who partners with sales teams to demonstrate and position data storage and infrastructure solutions to customers, translating complex technical concepts into business value and supporting the sales process through technical presentations, evaluations, and strategic customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales to guide customers through data and infrastructure challenges.
  • Develop understanding of customer business drivers and decision-making processes.
  • Connect technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with account managers, specialists, and partners to drive revenue growth.
  • Lead evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for customer solutions.
  • Create and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation.
  • Stay current with market trends, competition, and solution positioning.
  • Engage in consultative customer interactions to uncover requirements and align solutions.

Requirements

  • Pre-sales experience is required
  • 3 years relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
  • Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to commercial accounts
  • Ability to learn rapidly, absorb complex concepts, and adapt to evolving technologies and customer needs
  • Understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client server and web-based computing solutions
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture
  • Experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients
  • Contribute significant portions of or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
  • Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment
  • Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems
  • Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
  • Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases SQL, Oracle
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
