This role involves designing, validating, and supporting the development of high-performance hardware systems for enterprise storage solutions, collaborating across teams to ensure reliability, performance, and successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver high-performance hardware systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout with focus on signal integrity.
Lead hardware validation and qualification by defining, implementing, and automating comprehensive test plans for sub-systems.
Act as the hardware technical lead for product introduction, collaborating with operations and manufacturing teams for seamless transition to production.
Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations to improve system reliability and support customer escalations.
Define technical specifications and create documentation for new hardware designs, including functional specifications and test reports.
Requirements
Deep expertise in x86 architecture and interfaces, with the ability to qualify complex hardware at the electrical, signal integrity, protocol, and functional levels.
Proven capability in high-speed hardware design and analysis, including hands-on experience with schematic capture, driving complex PCB layouts, and using tools like high-speed oscilloscopes and bus analyzers for debugging and analysis.
Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and BASH for test automation and system-level qualification.
Experience in planning, implementing, and automating comprehensive hardware qualification and stress tests, including PTU, Mprime, and IOmeter, for enterprise-grade systems.
Ownership of the full hardware lifecycle from design and validation to sustaining, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners.
Ability to design and deliver high-performance hardware systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout with a focus on signal integrity.
Experience leading hardware validation and qualification, including defining, implementing, and automating comprehensive test plans for sub-systems like CPU, DDR memory, and key bus technologies such as PCIe and Ethernet.
Ability to act as the hardware technical lead for product introduction, collaborating with Operations, Manufacturing Test, and JDM partners to ensure seamless transition of new storage sub-systems from engineering to mass production.
Experience performing in-depth failure and root cause analysis during system hardening and supporting high-priority customer escalations.
Ability to define technical specifications and documentation for new hardware designs, including functional specifications and test reports, providing clear, high-quality technical blueprints for the entire product team.
