Job Description

Lead the development and strategic management of firmware for high-performance all-flash storage systems, overseeing product roadmaps, project delivery, and team growth in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the firmware strategy and roadmap for the Direct Flash Module (DFM).
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery of firmware development, managing resources and mitigating risks.
  • Implement agile development methodologies to optimize team productivity and firmware quality.
  • Mentor and manage the performance of firmware engineering team members.
  • Design and oversee NAND media management policies and hardware interfaces to ensure system reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • Deep technical leadership experience in embedded systems, including leading technical teams in embedded software development or firmware management for complex, high-performance systems.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages, with extensive hands-on knowledge of embedded system architecture and firmware design principles.
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions within storage technologies, including SSD controllers and NAND flash media management.
  • Track record of successfully managing the full product development cycle (PDLC) using Agile or Scrum methodologies, with demonstrated ability to define scope, manage dependencies, and deliver projects on schedule.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical strategies to cross-functional partners, including Hardware, Software, and Executive teams.
  • Experience defining and executing a long-term product and feature roadmap for firmware, ensuring alignment with business objectives for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Experience leading end-to-end project delivery, overseeing resource allocation, mitigating technical risks, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery from concept through production release.
  • Experience cultivating high-performance engineering teams, including managing team performance, conducting regular coaching sessions, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Ability to guide the design and implementation of sophisticated NAND media management policies and low-level hardware interfaces, ensuring high performance, simplicity, and industry leadership in NAND adoption (e.g., QLC).
  • Willingness to work in an in-office environment at the Santa Clara, CA office, in compliance with company policies.
