Job Description
The role involves leading and managing a technical sales team supporting Tier-1 telecommunications customers across EMEA, providing pre-sales technical support, building customer relationships, and driving strategic initiatives in network transformation and data storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Systems Engineers supporting Tier-1 Telco and Network Equipment partners across EMEA.
- Oversee technical pre-sales activities, ensuring high-quality support to the sales team and alignment with strategic goals.
- Engage with senior customer stakeholders to understand technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Support the delivery of technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Contribute to regional Telco sales strategy development and execution.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support to address customer needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a technical pre-sales or Systems Engineering leadership role supporting Tier-1 Telecommunications customers within the EMEA region.
- Strong technical background with expertise in storage solutions and related technologies.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Systems Engineers supporting Tier-1 Telco and Network Equipment provider partners across EMEA.
- Ability to conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Deep understanding of the telco operating model, including network, IT, procurement, security, cloud, engineering, and operations.
- Experience supporting technical pre-sales activities, including providing high-quality support to sales teams, technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders such as CTOs, Network Cloud, Core Network, CISO, and Procurement to understand strategic programs and technical requirements.
- Strong relationship-building skills to act as a trusted advisor to customers and support SEs in customer engagement activities.
- Experience contributing to the development and execution of regional Telco sales strategies and aligning technical activities with strategic goals.
- Ability to monitor and report on key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support to ensure alignment and address customer needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of industry-standard telco architectures, including NFV, 5G/6G, RAN, Core Network, CNF, private cloud, data protection, AI/ML pipelines, and edge requirements.
- Knowledge of the telco business model, network transformation programs, and data-intensive workloads.
- Willingness to work primarily in an in-office environment at locations in London, Munich, Paris, or Madrid, in compliance with company policies.
