Job Description

The Senior Manager of Project Development will lead the development, coordination, and execution of energy storage projects in Brazil, overseeing site acquisition, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and project financing to bring projects to completion and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with local Brazilian partners to ensure efficient project workflow.
  • Identify and secure project sites that maximize off-take potential, ensuring due diligence.
  • Manage project pipeline and execute complex milestone deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Lead site acquisition, permitting, and technology problem-solving efforts to keep projects on track.
  • Understand and coordinate project financing elements with finance and commercial teams.
  • Support commercial opportunities by partnering with Markets and Origination teams for RFP submissions.
  • Negotiate power purchase agreements, permits, interconnection agreements, and related contracts.
  • Assist in closing and financing new deals to support project development and deployment.

Requirements

  • Minimum BA/BS degree in economics, finance, business, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in project development focused on transmission-connected generators in Brazil
  • Familiarity with the Brazilian power market, ONS and EPE rules and dynamics
  • Experience supporting full lifecycle development of a transmission-connected generation asset in Brazil
  • Experience participating in the development of or completing all of the following agreement types: Site lease or purchase agreements, Site Plan and Building Permit approvals, Interconnection agreements, Power purchase or tolling agreements, MIPA PSA for project disposition acquisition
  • Creative independent thinker with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Adept at working collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think creatively, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to complex challenges
  • Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver timely, high-quality results
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel as needed to successfully advance and contract a portfolio of projects, including stakeholder meetings, site visits, and related activities
