The role involves managing the operations and maintenance of grid-scale energy storage sites, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance, while coordinating with technical teams and third-party contractors to optimize site uptime and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee operations and maintenance of 1-3 energy storage sites, ensuring safety and performance.
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities with field technicians, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with safety, electrical policies, and regulatory requirements, including safety inspections and audits.
Support and guide field operations, including scheduling preventative maintenance and managing work orders.
Monitor site performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions to maximize uptime.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, safety protocols, and warranty claims.
Coordinate with asset managers and stakeholders to ensure contractual commitments and budget adherence.
Travel to site locations up to 60% for inspections, supervision, and support during outages or emergencies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area of study or five years experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of two years direct experience in BESS and or Solar site operations.
Sound knowledge of safe industrial work practices and a commitment to ensuring site safety.
Ability to communicate professionally with management, contractors and external stakeholders.
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Electrical, Inverter, and BESS certifications or licenses are preferred.
HV electrical certification or experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand electrical mechanical schematics and drawings.
Experience running and managing teams of personnel both locally and remotely.
Flexible work hours and travel to remote areas are required.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift 30 lbs and comfortable working from a ladder.
Ability to walk long distances for site inspections.
Able to use forklifts and other small, motorized equipment.
Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.
Able to respond in person to their site locations in a reasonable period of time.
Travel up to 60% for in-field work, onsite supervision or to support other Field Managers during planned or forced outages.
