Job Description
This internship involves developing and deploying AI tools and systems to support manufacturing processes and hardware testing at Planet, with a focus on integrating AI models into existing infrastructure and collaborating with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy features used by spacecraft engineers and technicians
- Collaborate with teams to develop or utilize API integrations
- Troubleshoot complex software and system problems
- Experiment with and integrate artificial intelligence models into existing tools and systems
- Research and develop AI tools to address manufacturing system challenges
- Develop and document APIs and database schemas
- Gather user feedback and requirements, then create mockups
- Implement new frontend and backend features and demonstrate them to the team
- Develop prototypes and proof of concepts
- Conduct code reviews
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program in the field of artificial intelligence, Machine Learning and LLMs, or a related field.
- Experience using machine learning methods to classify data.
- Experience with MCP, skills, and other methods to enable tool use by large language models (LLMs).
- Experience integrating with or building REST APIs.
- Web development experience.
- Experience with relational databases.
- The position requires access to export-controlled information, and the candidate must be able to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
