Job Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales of technical and industrial products by combining engineering expertise with interpersonal and business skills, providing technical support, developing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets within a designated territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of technical and industrial products by identifying customer needs and recommending solutions
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular sales calls and effective communication
- Develop and implement sales plans and strategies within assigned territory
- Provide technical support and product demonstrations to customers
- Collaborate with marketing and other teams to develop presentations and application notes
- Qualify leads, follow up on quotations, and manage sales activities within the territory
- Drive value-added solutions and act as a technical consultant for control cabinet, machine mounted, and industrial networking applications
- Develop forecasts and reports to regional management
- Participate in industry associations and utilize sales tools to maximize productivity
Requirements
- Four-year degree. Technical discipline preferred and or equivalent industrial industry experience.
- 3 to 5 years minimum sales experience in the electronics marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution preferred.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality is required. Regular and on-time attendance.
