Job Description
The Sales Engineer OEM is a technical sales professional responsible for driving product sales, building customer relationships, providing technical support, and identifying growth opportunities within assigned accounts in the industrial automation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by identifying growth opportunities and building customer relationships.
- Support the sales process through technical support, proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Maintain and update CRM systems to track customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activities.
Requirements
- Four-year degree; a technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent industry experience, with an emphasis on end-user experience.
- 1 to 3 years minimum sales experience in the industrial automation controls or end-user marketplace.
- A strong engineering background or technical degree is essential, providing the foundation for understanding complex products and solutions.
- Experience working with distribution is preferred.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time, including overnight travel 20-25 nights per year.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to conduct a minimum of 16 to 20 sales calls per week within assigned accounts.
- Must be able to develop and maintain a working knowledge of all Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Must be able to qualify and follow up on all opportunities and quotations within the assigned account portfolio.
- Must be able to demonstrate technical competence on all products and solutions within the area of focus.
- Must be punctual and maintain regular and on-time attendance.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
