Job Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales of technical and industrial products by combining engineering expertise with interpersonal skills, identifying customer needs, providing technical support, and developing sales strategies within a designated territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of technical and industrial products by identifying customer needs and recommending solutions
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular sales calls and effective communication
- Develop and implement sales plans and strategies within assigned territory
- Provide technical support and product demonstrations to customers
- Qualify leads, follow up on quotations, and manage sales activities within the territory
- Collaborate with marketing and other teams to develop presentations, application notes, and account strategies
- Maintain technical knowledge of all products and solutions to act as a market consultant
- Work with distributors and national accounts to grow sales and execute mutual action plans
- Provide sales forecasts and reports to management
Requirements
- Four-year degree. Technical discipline preferred and or equivalent industrial industry experience.
- 3 to 5 years minimum sales experience in the electronics marketplace.
- Experience working with distribution preferred.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality is required. Regular and on-time attendance.
