Job Description

The Field Application Engineer provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to drive sales growth, develop customer relationships, and support product applications within the industrial automation industry across a specified region.

Key Responsibilities

Support and increase sales of automation, control, and networking products within assigned territory.
Act as the technical representative for Phoenix Contact products, providing hands-on demonstrations and technical support.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to facilitate new business and growth.
Collaborate with sales teams through joint activities, trainings, and strategic planning to drive product sales.
Create sales tools, collateral, and campaigns to promote products and solutions.
Provide customer insights for product line expansion and new industry focus.
Utilize CRM systems for client management, reporting, and tracking sales activities.
Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Phoenix Contact automation, control, and networking solutions.

Requirements

Four-year degree required, with an Engineering degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights as dictated by the assigned territory.
Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
