Job Description
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) provides technical support and expertise in automation, control, and networking products to drive sales growth, develop customer relationships, and support the expansion of Phoenix Contact's product applications within the industrial automation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and increase sales revenue of automation, control, and networking products at customer accounts.
- Act as the technical representative to assist sales teams with product-related technical matters.
- Develop sales tools, collateral, and marketing campaigns to promote products.
- Provide customer insights to inform product line expansion and new industry focus.
- Deliver product presentations and hands-on demonstrations to drive sales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Utilize CRM systems for client management, reporting, and tracking activities.
- Demonstrate technical competence on automation, control, and networking solutions.
- Collaborate with sales teams through joint activities, trainings, and action plans.
- Achieve and exceed territory sales quotas as established by management.
Requirements
- Four-year degree required, with an engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales or marketing experience with automation and industrial control products.
- Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively with colleagues with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to travel overnight 40 or more nights per year as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality and regular, on-time attendance are required.
