Job Description
The Account Development Specialist End-User is responsible for engaging with customers and engineering firms to identify sales opportunities, build relationships, and drive sales of end-user-focused products through direct outreach, technical knowledge, and strategic communication, with the goal of developing accounts and supporting the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, contact, and sell to new and existing end-user customers and engineering firms.
- Drive sales of end-user-focused products through technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and communication.
- Build and maintain customer relationships using BASE selling skills and lead generation methods.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials to support sales efforts.
- Utilize and update CRM systems to track customer interactions and sales activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align efforts and develop field presentations and application notes.
- Qualify leads, follow up on quotations, and develop effective Mutual Action Plans with distributors.
- Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to promote product sales.
- Achieve or exceed sales quotas and track performance metrics.
- Provide forecasts and reports to management.
Requirements
- Must be able to travel via airplane and automobile for up to six hours at a time, including overnight travel for 35-40 nights or as dictated by the assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver s license.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to meet or exceed territory sales quotas as established by the RSM and/or Vice President Field Sales.
- Must be proficient in BASE selling skills and implement them to build strong customer relationships.
- Must generate leads through cold calls, emails, and networking events.
- Must support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
- Must maintain and update CRM systems with accurate client information and fully utilize the CRM as a communication, reporting, measurement, and tracking tool.
- Must collaborate with the entire Phoenix Contact team to align efforts and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must track and report on business development activities and performance metrics.
- Must differentiate Phoenix Contact from other component vendors by building partner relationships with customers.
- Must focus on the customer by averaging a minimum of 20 sales calls per week.
- Must be proficient in and drive the use of all sales tools provided to support local markets.
- Must work closely with Harrisburg Product teams to aid in the development of field presentations and application notes.
- Must proactively utilize all resources and sales tools to maximize productivity, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Must demonstrate technical competence on all products and solutions within the area of focus.
- Must provide forecasts and reports to RSM as required.
- Must independently and/or with regional management develop and implement effective Mutual Action Plans with assigned distributor locations.
- Must deliver presentations and hands-on demonstrations of Phoenix Contact products, applications, and technology.
- Must develop and maintain a working knowledge of all Phoenix Contact products and solutions.
- Must qualify and follow up on all leads within the assigned territory and follow up on all quotations within the account portfolio.
- Preferred: Four-year degree or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 1 to 3 years minimum sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
- Preferred: Experience working with distribution.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Must be punctual.
