The role involves leading and executing CFD simulations for marine systems using advanced tools, developing validation processes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize marine energy technologies in extreme environments.
Key Responsibilities
Execute and lead the full CFD simulation workflow using OpenFOAM, Helyx, or Star-CCM, including CAD integration, meshing, troubleshooting, and post-processing.
Develop, validate, and refine simulation setups for multi-phase turbulent marine flows involving fluid-structure interaction in complex environments.
Design and lead verification and validation efforts to ensure simulation accuracy and reliability.
Contribute to the development of process automation pipelines connecting multi-fidelity CFD tools.
Run simulations on high-performance computing platforms, including on-premises and cloud-based HPC systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate physical principles into design insights.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal tools, documentation, and best practices.
Influence engineering decisions and contribute to the strategic direction of the team using simulation data.
