The role involves designing, integrating, and building electromechanical systems for a renewable ocean energy technology company, combining mechanical and electrical engineering tasks such as CAD design, assembly, testing, and documentation to develop robust and reliable hardware in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design mechanical hardware using CAD for prototypes and production systems
Integrate mechanical and electronic hardware into functional assemblies
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical systems
Read and interpret mechanical and wiring diagrams to support builds
Provide feedback on manufacturability and assembly for design improvements
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to determine system requirements
Create documentation detailing design and process steps for production
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Proficiency with CAD tools and mechanical design fundamentals.
Experience assembling electromechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and wiring diagrams.
Skilled in the use of hand tools for basic part fabrication and assembly.
Hands-on experience with tools and techniques used in the electronics industry, including soldering irons, crimpers, multimeters, and related tools.
Ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours per day and occasionally lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more.
Comfort working in elevated work areas, including ladders and platforms, while using appropriate safety equipment.
Ability to work safely in confined spaces when required.
Willingness and ability to support occasional deployment or field assignments, including periodic travel or on-site work as needed for operational support.
