Job Description
A software engineer role focused on developing, testing, and enhancing mobile and web applications for GIS solutions, with an emphasis on user collaboration, product requirements, and delivering sustainable geospatial software products within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test new capabilities in mobile and web apps such as Field Maps and Navigator
- Collaborate with users and clients to understand needs and translate them into product requirements
- Translate product roadmap features into detailed requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Influence product development by collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Advocate for customer workflows in product design and delivery
- Identify and mitigate risks related to product development and technical challenges
- Analyze complex product issues and propose solutions
- Assess product quality and release readiness through testing and review
- Create educational content like tutorials and articles to support app deployment
- Become a subject matter expert on specific product features and capabilities
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Esri products such as working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, and or Online
- Experience configuring and deploying Esri Field Apps such as Field Maps, Survey 123, Navigator, Quick Capture
- Expertise building and delivering projects by applying concepts in modern software languages, such as Python or JavaScript
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable software solutions
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to a range of audiences
- Passion and ability to deliver quality work in a timely and efficient manner, in teams or individually
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment involving multiple engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, or a related field
