Job Description

An IT Support Specialist responsible for providing technical support for various workplace technologies, troubleshooting issues, managing documentation, and supporting the company's IT infrastructure in a startup environment focused on renewable energy and ocean technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user support for laptops, mobile devices, A V systems, printers, and network issues.
  • Manage and resolve support requests through ticketing systems like Jira Service Management.
  • Administer and support corporate productivity tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Atlassian, and Microsoft Office.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding by provisioning and deprovisioning accounts and devices.
  • Document support processes and maintain an internal knowledge base.
  • Manage inventory and storage of technology peripherals and equipment.
  • Assist in office build-outs and setup of new technology and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple operating systems and devices.
  • Support and maintain network and hardware infrastructure, including patching cables and supporting A V equipment.
  • Contribute to building scalable IT systems and processes, including automation and security frameworks.

Requirements

  • Candidates should have 2 years of experience in technical support, desktop support, or a related role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as mobile devices such as Android and iOS.
  • Comfort with administration and governance of corporate productivity tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Skills in supporting A V equipment, printers, and networking basics, e.g., patching cables.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work directly with people to solve problems.
  • A process-oriented mindset, with attention to detail in documentation and process management.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive in a fast-growing, evolving environment.
  • This is an on-site role in Portland, Oregon, requiring the candidate to work at the company’s Portland office.
