The role involves translating advanced renewable ocean technology into compelling financial and strategic narratives, conducting market research, building financial models, and supporting business development efforts to bring innovative clean energy solutions to market.
Key Responsibilities
Create compelling narratives and visual presentations for strategic and financial communication.
Develop and maintain financial models, including unit economics and financing waterfalls.
Generate data visualizations to simplify complex market insights.
Conduct market research to size TAMs, benchmark costs, and monitor industry deals.
Manage investor and partner communications, including drafting updates and tracking engagement.
Prepare briefing documents, Q&A, and follow-up materials for meetings and external events.
Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
Five or more years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, high-growth infrastructure or energy tech startups, project-finance advisory, strategy consulting, or similar fields.
Expert-level proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and macros is a plus, with the ability to develop and maintain dynamic financial models such as unit economics, financing waterfalls, and sensitivities.
Exceptional written communication skills capable of condensing complex ideas into clear, concise bullets and headlines, and adapting communication style for various audiences.
Demonstrated extreme ownership and comfort working under tight deadlines, with ambiguous data, and in environments requiring senior-level scrutiny.
Ability to build visually compelling narratives using PowerPoint, Keynote, or Figma, and turn insights into best-in-class charts and graphs.
Experience in market competitive research, including sizing TAMs, benchmarking costs, and monitoring deals across data-center and energy-transition markets where public information is limited.
Experience in pipeline management, including coordinating investor contact lists, drafting and polishing email updates, and tracking engagement.
Ability to prepare briefing documents, Q&A, and redlines for meetings, and drive follow-ups to closure.
Willingness to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet aggressive goals that may span multiple time zones.
Willingness to travel on short notice for meetings and conferences.
Based in Portland, OR, or willing to relocate or travel at least part-time, with relocation assistance provided.
