The Benefits Compensation Manager is responsible for managing employee benefit and compensation programs, ensuring HR compliance, and supporting HR initiatives to attract and retain top talent within a renewable energy company.
Key Responsibilities
Manage employee benefit programs and annual enrollment processes
Assess and analyze benefit programs, presenting recommendations to leadership
Facilitate benefit administration and communicate benefit-related information
Manage broker and carrier relationships to ensure optimal benefit delivery
Support administration of salary surveys and ensure competitive pay practices
Evaluate job descriptions for FLSA status and salary grading
Manage annual rewards processes, including merit and bonus system setup
Administer leaves of absence, ensuring compliance and proper documentation
Support ADA compliance and reasonable accommodations through employee interactions
Roll out HR programs, including project management and communication
Ensure compliance with employment laws and review policies for adherence
Conduct internal audits related to HR compliance and employee records
Partner with external counsel on HR policies and employee handbook updates
Manage relationships and contracts with HR vendors
Participate in safety initiatives and support a culture of safety
Provide backup support for onboarding, offboarding, and general HR inquiries
Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred
At least 5 years HR experience, including at least 3 years experience in benefits administration
Solid understanding of compensation principles and practices, including consulting leaders on compensation decisions
Understanding of leave laws and regulations
Proven ability to lead HR programs
Ability to build and maintain trust with employees and leaders at all levels and manage sensitive and confidential information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
Strong attention to detail
Critical thinking capabilities
Proactive, self-starter
Ability to handle multiple projects and work successfully in a dynamic team environment
Comfortable with a work environment that is fast paced and changes quickly
Ability to make informed decisions in a quick and nimble fashion

Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Experience with Rippling HRIS preferred

Compensation/salary range: Madison, WI $80,000 - $120,000; Boulder, CO $90,000 - $130,000; Seattle, WA $100,000 - $140,000
