The Manager, Real Estate is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and developing greenfield solar energy sites by working closely with landowners, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure project viability and successful site control for utility-scale solar projects.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and acquire greenfield solar energy sites
Support project development strategy creation with cross-functional teams
Manage outreach and relationship building with landowners
Negotiate lease options and site control agreements with landowners
Assist with resolving title and legal description issues in collaboration with legal and real estate professionals
Record legal documents related to real estate transactions
Communicate real estate status updates to internal and external stakeholders
Travel to project sites, landowner residences, and county courthouses to address easement and title challenges
Maintain long-term relationships with key landowner partners throughout project timelines
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience working in renewable energy, real estate, sales, or law.
Experience in Microsoft Office Office 365, Google Apps, Salesforce, and database management.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to execute and deliver under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups and external stakeholders.
Solid negotiating and problem-solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.
Practical experience dealing with solar project development, including site identification, real estate acquisition, land and title matters, permitting, interconnection, and community outreach.
Must have a 'roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right' attitude.
Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain, with up to 1-2 weeks of travel per month, and must carry an active driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
