Job Description
The Tax Manager at Octopus Energy Generation is responsible for overseeing tax strategy, compliance, and risk management across a portfolio of development funds and structures, working closely with investment and finance teams throughout the full fund lifecycle in a complex international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central tax lead for designated development funds and structures
- Oversee tax strategy, governance, and compliance across the full fund lifecycle
- Collaborate with investment teams, portfolio companies, finance teams, and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions
- Manage reporting, risk management, and transaction execution related to fund taxes
- Provide proactive, commercially focused support on fund structures and investments
Requirements
- The candidate must have experience taking primary responsibility for a defined bucket of development funds and associated structures within a fund management company, overseeing the full fund lifecycle from investment structuring and governance through to portfolio holding structures and exit.
- The candidate must act as the central tax lead for these funds, working closely with investment teams, portfolio companies, finance teams, and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
- The candidate must have experience combining fund-level tax strategy and governance with hands-on oversight of compliance, reporting, risk management, and transaction execution.
- The candidate must have experience working with complex international holding structures, diverse operating models, and engaging with senior stakeholders across the business.
