Job Description
A Senior Frontend Engineer at Octopus Energy is responsible for developing and shaping user-facing products that enhance customer experience, promote greener living, and support the company's digital energy transition initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain frontend applications to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and data to shape product features.
- Implement user interface components and ensure their responsiveness and accessibility.
- Contribute to the technical design and architecture of frontend systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Frontend Engineer, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities, demonstrating the ability to develop and maintain complex frontend applications.
- Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies and frameworks, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience in designing and implementing user interfaces that are responsive, accessible, and user-friendly.
- Solid understanding of web development best practices, including performance optimization, code quality, and security standards.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and code reviews.
- Strong communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Physical ability to work at a computer for extended periods, with ergonomic considerations as needed.
