Job Description
A Senior Backend Engineer specializing in TypeScript, responsible for developing and maintaining hardware-related software products within a collaborative, innovative team focused on advancing smart, renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Octopus Energy's hardware products and features
- Engage with complex software problems related to backend cloud development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems holistically across multiple products
- Build and shape scalable, high-quality backend systems using TypeScript
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new product features and improvements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on cloud development, specifically using TypeScript.
- Ability to develop and maintain hardware products and features within a cross-functional team.
- Strong interest in engaging with interesting software problems related to backend cloud development.
- Experience working in an open, agile culture that fosters innovation, flexibility, and creativity.
- Ability to collaborate with wider teams across disciplines to solve problems holistically across multiple products.
- Willingness and ability to work in the UK, with a preference for candidates who can work in the London office or remotely within the UK.
- Availability to participate in a recruitment process that typically takes up to 4 weeks, including conversations with the recruitment team and interview stages.
