The Engineering Manager will lead the product development of batteries and solar hubs for energy distribution in Africa, overseeing cross-functional teams to bring hardware and software products from concept to deployment while ensuring timely delivery and reliable performance.
Key Responsibilities
Drive product development of batteries and solar hubs from concept to production, deployment, and operations support.
Guide cross-functional teams across mechanical, electronics, software, and firmware disciplines.
Coordinate with the CEO and Head of Product to plan and execute multi-disciplinary initiatives integrating hardware and software systems.
Manage hardware and software system integration with the supply chain in China.
Ensure products are delivered on time and perform reliably in the field.
Requirements
Experience in driving the product development of hardware products, specifically batteries and solar hubs, from concept through to production, field deployment, and operations support.
Ability to guide cross-functional teams spanning mechanical, electronics, software, and firmware disciplines.
Experience in planning and executing multi-disciplinary initiatives that integrate hardware and software systems with supply chains, particularly with experience working with Chinese supply chains.
Proven track record of ensuring products get to market on time and continue to perform reliably in the field.
Strong organizational skills to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills to drive alignment across diverse teams and time zones.
