Job Description
A Data Platform Engineer responsible for building and maintaining a global data platform that supports self-service analytics, data workflows, and machine learning initiatives to advance energy sustainability and support the transition to Net Zero.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the data platform, pipelines, and reporting tools
- Design, test, and deploy data platform services using software engineering best practices
- Support data processing workflows, including ETL jobs, machine learning training, and predictions
- Work on natural language understanding of customer communications and processing large volumes of smart meter readings
- Contribute to creating and improving smart energy tariffs through data analysis and platform enhancements
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing, testing, and deploying data platforms and services following software engineering best practices.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and reporting tools.
- Ability to work with data processing workflows, including ETL jobs and machine learning training and prediction.
- Experience working with large-scale data, such as processing billions of smart meter readings daily.
- Strong understanding of self-service data analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible process timeline, typically up to 4 weeks, and coordinate with recruitment and interview teams.
