Job Description
A Credit Underwriter responsible for assessing credit risk and supporting the expansion of the consumer underwriting team at Octopus Electric Vehicles, helping to develop policies, processes, and technology to enable quick credit decisions for electric vehicle leasing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess credit risk for consumer loan applications
- Develop and implement policies, processes, and tech tools for credit underwriting
- Make quick credit line decisions for B2B and consumer clients
- Utilize data and technology to evaluate creditworthiness
- Ensure accurate and efficient credit risk assessment
Requirements
- Experience in credit underwriting or a similar role involving assessment of credit risk.
- Ability to create, implement, and follow policies, processes, and tech tools for credit risk assessment.
- Proficiency in making quick credit line decisions for both B2B and consumer clients.
- Strong understanding of credit risk evaluation and decision-making processes.
- Experience with building or working within an in-house underwriting team.
- Ability to work with or develop datasets and technology tools to support credit decisions.
- Excellent analytical skills to accurately assess credit applications and risk factors.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain credit decisions and policies.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments involved in underwriting and risk assessment.
