Job Description
The role involves developing and improving scalable infrastructure and tools to enhance engineering productivity and efficiency within Nuro's self-driving technology environment, leveraging cutting-edge techniques and AI to address complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify pain points in the engineering process and develop solutions.
- Define, instrument, analyze, communicate, and monitor metrics related to engineering velocity and system health.
- Create and improve internal tools, extend existing tools, or introduce new tools to enhance developer efficiency.
- Build scalable infrastructure for continuous integration, testing, and deployment of code.
- Manage and improve fundamental libraries and code dependencies.
- Leverage Generative AI to enhance engineering productivity.
- Educate engineers on best practices and new tools.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong software engineering skills in C, Python, or Golang
- Ability to flexibly build new tools end to end to address constantly changing developer needs
- Passion for software engineering best practices
- Experience in building scalable and reliable infrastructure pipelines
- Expertise in build frameworks such as Bazel, CMake, and Buildbarn
- Familiarity with popular cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS), and in-depth knowledge of Kubernetes clusters
