Job Description
Gatik is seeking a Senior Audio Systems Engineer to design, develop, and optimize vehicle audio architectures for autonomous trucks, focusing on sound quality, safety, diagnostics, and system integration to support their driverless middle-mile logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate vehicle audio systems including transducers, DSP, and connectivity solutions
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing vehicle acoustics and mitigating NVH issues
- Conduct validation testing of audio and acoustic systems through laboratory and real-world testing
- Analyze and optimize audio systems to meet performance benchmarks for diagnostics and safety alerts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on subsystem integration and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Manage technical relationships and specifications with Tier 1 audio and acoustic hardware suppliers
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test reports
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, or a similar engineering discipline
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in vehicle audio system design, automotive NVH, or acoustic sensor integration
- Deep technical expertise in digital signal processing (DSP) for audio applications and acoustic measurement equipment such as microphones, sound level meters, and DAQ systems
- Knowledge of automotive networking and interface protocols including A2B, CAN, CAN-FD, and Automotive Ethernet
- Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze test data, identify root causes, and propose corrective hardware or software actions
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies for optimizing vehicle acoustics and conducting NVH analysis to identify and mitigate unwanted noise sources such as wind, road, tires, and powertrain noise
- Experience in developing and executing comprehensive audio and acoustic validation plans, including laboratory measurement and real-world road testing
- Ability to analyze and validate audio systems to achieve high-performance benchmarks for interior diagnostics and exterior safety alerts (AVAS)
- Experience in designing, integrating, and optimizing end-to-end audio systems, including transducers, digital signal processing (DSP), and connectivity solutions
- Ability to create and maintain engineering specifications, schematics, and test reports to ensure system explainability and safety compliance
- Strong computer skills with programming or scripting experience in Python and MATLAB for data analysis and automation
