Job Description
The VP of Business Development will lead the sales team and develop strategic partnerships to establish Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the Middle East, focusing initially on government and defense sectors and expanding into global commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Business Development Sales team, including two direct reports.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on government and defense sectors.
- Develop and execute strategies to open doors and close deals with governments, MoDs, and defense contractors in the Middle East.
- Position Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the UAE and globally.
- Leverage extensive network to facilitate market entry and growth in targeted sectors.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior business development or sales management role, with a proven track record of leading a team with at least 2 direct reports.
- Existing leadership experience in business development or sales roles is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a strong sales pipeline.
- Experience in opening doors and closing deals with governments, Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and defense contractors across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
- Strong network within the government, defense, and satellite manufacturing sectors in the Middle East.
- Experience in strategic vision, customer engagement, and market expertise related to satellite manufacturing, space missions, or related industries.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach to leading a business development sales team.
- Experience in developing and positioning a company as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations.
- Familiarity with the defense and government sectors, particularly in the Middle East, and understanding of their procurement processes.
- Knowledge of the satellite manufacturing industry, including mass production processes and operational scale, is preferred.
