The Senior CFD Engineer will be responsible for performing thermal-fluid analysis of heat exchangers, managing the entire CFD workflow, and providing insights to optimize hardware design for nuclear plant components.
Key Responsibilities
Perform thermal-fluid analysis of heat exchangers from initial sizing to detailed geometry design
Manage the entire CFD workflow, including simulation setup, execution, and analysis
Translate CFD simulation results into trade studies and design recommendations
Inform hardware design decisions related to pressure drop, effectiveness, flow distribution, and hot spots
Improve the efficiency and consistency of CFD modeling and result communication
Requirements
Experience in thermal-fluid analysis related to heat exchangers, including first-pass sizing and detailed geometry decisions.
Ability to own the CFD workflow end-to-end, from simulation setup to analysis and reporting.
Proficiency in turning CFD simulation results into clear trade studies and recommendations that directly inform hardware design, including parameters such as ΔP, effectiveness, flow distribution, and hot spots.
Demonstrated ability to improve the speed and consistency of CFD modeling and communication of results.
