Job Description
The Senior Project Manager at SB Energy oversees the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale energy and data center projects, ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule adherence while coordinating with various stakeholders and leading project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage medium-to-large construction projects, including data centers, from pre-construction through closeout.
- Oversee all aspects of project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholder engagement, and budget management.
- Coordinate and supervise design phases, contractors, and onsite construction activities.
- Develop and oversee project budgets, RFPs, and contract negotiations with vendors and contractors.
- Manage safety programs, conduct site safety walks, and ensure compliance with EHS policies.
- Lead commissioning of critical systems and facilitate hand-off of project documents to operations.
- Collaborate with design teams, contractors, operations, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor and report on project financials, including forecasting, cash flow, and contractor billing.
- Ensure project quality, safety, and compliance with engineering standards, codes, and specifications.
- Drive process improvements, lessons learned, and cost and schedule savings initiatives throughout project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in leading construction projects of increasing complexity required, with 7-10 years preferred.
- Data Center experience strongly preferred.
- Multi-prime or alternate procurement delivery experience is preferred.
- Procore, Cx Alloy, and P6 experience preferred.
- Experience in CSA civil, structural, architectural, and MEP mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction management is a requirement.
- Ability to translate job requirements to execution with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lead and mentor SB Energy team members.
- Experience in developing, leading, maintaining, and assisting with contract negotiation of new and existing vendors.
- Experience in overseeing all aspects of a construction project including RFP development, project budgeting, pre-bid planning, oversight and coordination, design phases, stakeholder engagement, contractor supervision, physical construction activities, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Experience in managing project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholder communication, and budget.
- Experience in submitting monthly project financial reporting including forecasting and cash-flow analysis.
- Ability to review contractor billing and perform job walks to substantiate progress.
- Experience with developing, documenting, and driving lessons learned, process improvements, and cost and schedule savings initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience in coordinating design criteria with budgetary issues and ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities.
- Experience in performing and supervising weekly safety walks to ensure contractors follow SB Energy EHS policies.
- Awareness of the importance of mission-critical facility operation.
- Experience with civil, structural, architectural, and MEP mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction management in CSA standards.
- Location on-site near Temple, TX.
- Ability to work with design teams, contractors, operations teams, and clients to ensure project requirements and standards are met.
