Job Description
A Software Engineer specializing in Python and Django, responsible for developing and maintaining energy management platforms and solutions within a collaborative, innovative team focused on creating sustainable and intelligent energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side applications using Python and Django framework.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for energy management platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services with frontend and mobile applications.
- Utilize AWS services and infrastructure tools like Terraform, Packer, and Consul for deployment and infrastructure management.
- Implement background processing workflows using Celery, RabbitMQ, SQS, and Airflow.
- Monitor and measure application performance using tools like Loggly, Sentry, and Cloudwatch.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software development with a focus on Python programming language.
- Experience working with Django framework and Django-REST-framework for building web applications.
- Solid understanding of background processing tools such as Celery, RabbitMQ, SQS, and Airflow.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically heavy usage of AWS services and employing Hashistack tools like Packer, Consul, and Terraform as part of a continuous deployment pipeline.
- Ability to develop and maintain server-side applications using Python and Django, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Experience with analysis and forecasting using Pandas, Numpy, and Jupyter notebooks.
- Experience working in a multi-discipline engineering team, following Agile methodologies such as Kanban, and using tools like Google Docs, Asana, Github, CircleCI, and Terraform Enterprise.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following open-source coding conventions.
- Experience with client-side technologies including React, Redux, and SASS, and familiarity with mobile app development using native code or React Native.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Ability to monitor and measure performance using tools like Loggly, Sentry, and Cloudwatch.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, global team.
