Job Description
A Senior Platform Engineer specializing in Observability will contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable, reliable infrastructure, focusing on enhancing monitoring, alerting, and visibility across the company's energy management platform to support engineering teams in building resilient services.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the availability, performance, and scalability of products across Kraken.
- Improve monitoring and alerting systems for the company's product suite.
- Support engineering teams during their transition to on-call responsibilities.
- Help shape and develop the observability practices at Kraken.
- Maintain and develop resilient, scalable infrastructure to support platform reliability.
Requirements
- Experience contributing to the availability, performance, and scalability of products across a platform, with a focus on improving monitoring and alerting systems.
- Ability to work alongside engineering teams to support their transition to on-call responsibilities over a period of six months.
- Capability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and trust, including navigating unclear requirements, asking questions, and moving forward with incomplete information.
- Proven experience in architecting, developing, and maintaining resilient and scalable infrastructure that supports platform reliability.
- Strong understanding of observability principles and practices, including monitoring, alerting, and visibility for reliable services.
- Experience working in a team environment to shape observability strategies and implementations at an organizational level.
- Ability to develop skills independently and adapt as the team evolves, with a focus on continuous improvement in observability practices.
