Job Description
The Senior Lead Regulation Markets in North America will drive regulatory engagement, build relationships with stakeholders, and support the licensing and implementation of Kraken's energy technology within the complex legal and regulatory landscape to promote a sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Build trusted relationships with utility regulators, policymakers, client regulatory teams, and external advocacy partners in North America.
- Understand and analyze proposed regulations and client needs related to energy markets and regulation.
- Advocate for regulatory changes to maximize the benefits of Kraken's technology for clients.
- Support licensing and implementation of Kraken's solutions within regulated North American utilities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with business development, delivery, and client success teams to drive client success and regulatory engagement.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of regulations and policies related to energy markets in North America, including state and federal laws and regulations that affect licensing and implementation of energy technology solutions.
- Experience building trusted relationships with utility regulators, policymakers, client regulatory teams, and external advocacy partners to support regulatory engagement and client success.
- Ability to understand and analyze proposed regulations and client needs, including the capacity to interpret complex regulatory details relevant to the energy sector.
- Excellent written communication skills capable of producing clear, precise, and professional documentation, reports, and advocacy materials.
- Strong verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging in external settings such as meetings, conferences, and stakeholder discussions.
- Proven ability to advocate for regulatory changes and collaborate with clients and internal teams to maximize the benefits of energy technology solutions.
- Experience working closely with business development, delivery, and client success teams to support client growth and regulatory strategy.
- Demonstrated passion for the energy transition and sustainable energy systems, with a focus on renewable generation, intelligent grid development, and energy regulation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growing environment, reporting directly to the Head of Regulation and Markets in North America.
- Educational background or professional experience relevant to energy regulation, policy, or related fields (implied but not explicitly specified).
