Job Description
The Platform Product Manager at Kraken is responsible for overseeing reliability and observability systems to ensure the platform can safely scale to 100 million users, focusing on building dependable infrastructure, proactive prevention, and strategic alignment across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Foundational Reliability and Observability teams to build systems that support safe scaling to 100 million users.
- Oversee platform-wide reliability initiatives and observability platforms, primarily Datadog.
- Develop and execute a strategic product roadmap to enhance system reliability and visibility.
- Champion end-to-end reliability through proactive prevention, deep system visibility, and strategic education for engineering teams.
Requirements
- Experience in building and managing systems that support large-scale platforms, specifically with the ability to scale safely to 100 million users.
- Proven ability to develop and execute a product roadmap for complex technical ecosystems that aligns with organizational goals.
- Experience working with observability platforms, specifically Datadog, and implementing platform-wide reliability initiatives.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, including proactive prevention, deep system visibility, and reliability best practices.
- Ability to act as a strategic thinker and a force multiplier for engineering teams to champion end-to-end reliability and stability.
- Experience in building and improving tooling and cultural frameworks to own and enhance system stability.
- Excellent communication skills to provide strategic education and foster a culture of reliability across teams.
- Experience in working within a platform or product management role within a technology organization.
- Ability to analyze complex technical ecosystems and translate them into clear, actionable product strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams responsible for reliability and observability systems.
