Job Description

The Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Market Development leads efforts to shape and navigate energy market regulations, focusing on expanding Kraken's platform in complex markets like Spain, France, and Italy, by translating regulatory challenges into commercial opportunities within the evolving energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Regulatory Affairs and Market Development team in Spain, with support for France, Italy, and Portugal.
  • Shape and influence energy market regulations and design to support digital, platform-led energy systems.
  • Translate regulatory complexity into commercial advantages to enable successful market entry and scaling.
  • Ensure clients maximize platform value within evolving regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading Regulatory Affairs and Market Development teams, with a focus on energy markets, preferably in Spain, France, Italy, or Portugal.
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of policy, product, and commercial strategy to translate regulatory complexity into commercial advantage.
  • Experience in shaping and influencing regulation and market design in complex energy markets.
  • Strong understanding of evolving regulatory frameworks and market rules supportive of digital, platform-led energy systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support market entry and scaling strategies within complex regulatory environments.
  • Excellent leadership skills to manage and coordinate a team responsible for regulatory and market development activities.
  • Ability to support secondary markets such as France, Italy, or Portugal in addition to primary focus on Spain.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting market rules and regulatory policies relevant to energy systems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively operate at the intersection of policy, product, and commercial strategy.
  • Educational background in a relevant field such as Energy, Law, Policy, Business, or a related discipline (implied by senior managerial role).
