Job Description

The Head of Internal Compliance at Kraken is responsible for leading and managing the company's internal compliance program, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and policies, while partnering with teams to support responsible growth and navigate regulatory complexities in the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee Kraken's internal compliance function to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Build, scale, and manage Kraken's internal compliance program.
Partner with the Product Compliance team to align regulatory strategy with execution.
Advise leadership on navigating regulatory complexities to enable responsible growth.
Support expansion into new markets by strengthening compliance practices.
Help balance innovation with regulatory responsibility to support sustainable development.

Requirements

Experience in leading internal compliance functions within a corporate environment, with a proven track record of building, scaling, and overseeing internal compliance programs.
Ability to partner closely with Product Compliance teams to ensure alignment between regulatory strategy and execution.
Experience serving as a strategic advisor to leadership on compliance matters, including navigating regulatory complexity and enabling responsible, sustainable growth.
Deep understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies relevant to the energy or technology sector.
Strong knowledge of global regulatory expectations and the ability to help the company stay aligned with evolving international compliance standards.
Demonstrated ability to enable expansion into new markets through effective compliance management.
Excellent communication skills to effectively advise and collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Experience in fostering a compliance culture that supports responsible innovation and growth.
Ability to interpret and implement compliance requirements across operations, processes, and personnel.
Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably in energy, technology, or related fields, with an understanding of renewable energy, smart grids, or energy systems (implied by the company's focus).
