Job Description

A Platform Engineer specializing in Observability responsible for enhancing the availability, performance, and scalability of Kraken's energy management platform by improving monitoring, alerting, and supporting engineering teams in building reliable services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the availability, performance, and scalability of products across Kraken.
  • Improve monitoring and alerting systems for the product suite.
  • Support engineering teams during their transition to on-call responsibilities.
  • Help shape and develop the observability practices at Kraken.

Requirements

  • Proven experience contributing to the availability, performance, and scalability of products, with a focus on improving monitoring and alerting across a product suite.
  • Ability to work alongside engineering teams to support their transition to on-call over the next six months.
  • Experience working with infrastructure that is resilient and scalable, and contributing to its architecture, development, and maintenance.
  • Ability to navigate unclear requirements, ask questions, and move forward with incomplete information in a high-autonomy environment.
  • Strong understanding of observability principles and practices, including monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to support engineering teams in achieving reliable services.
  • Based in Melbourne, Australia, or willing to work in this location.
