Job Description
The Lead Software Engineer will lead a remote team in developing and implementing a transactional messaging platform for energy communications, utilizing technologies like Python, Django, React, and AWS to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a remote engineering team of 5-7 members across the UK and Europe.
- Develop and implement a new transactional messaging platform for clients and users.
- Provide technical leadership in building server-side components using Python, Django, and GraphQL.
- Oversee the development of client-side features using React, Typescript, and htmx.
- Utilize AWS and continuous deployment pipelines to deliver and maintain the platform.
Requirements
- Experience leading a remote team of engineers across the UK and Europe.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing transactional messaging platforms.
- Technical leadership skills in managing a team of five to seven engineers.
- Strong proficiency in server-side development using Python.
- Experience working with Django and GraphQL (Graphene) for web development.
- Experience with client-side development using React, Typescript, and htmx.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and managing continuous deployment pipelines.
- Ability to apply customer experience, operational excellence, and innovation speed principles to new sectors.
- Experience managing and leading software development projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of modern software development tools such as Notion, Asana, Github, CircleCI, Terraform Enterprise, Datadog, Sentry, and Cloudwatch.
- Excellent communication skills to lead and coordinate a remote engineering team.
- Ability to fully configure and manage written communications with customers within the transactional messaging platform.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable solutions to numerous clients and thousands of users globally.
