Job Description
The Head of Product - Comms is a senior leadership role responsible for managing and scaling Kraken's customer engagement platform across voice and digital channels, focusing on reliability, innovation, and strategic growth to enhance communication and customer experience in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the portfolio of products enabling customer engagement across voice and digital channels.
- Lead and grow a team of product managers, scaling and modernizing the product portfolio.
- Develop and execute a product strategy focusing on build, buy, or partner decisions to maximize long-term value.
- Prioritize and run the product portfolio with clear trade-offs, explicit bets, and ruthless prioritization.
- Define roadmaps that clearly communicate the problems being solved, success metrics, and rationale.
- Bring a strong perspective on where AI can meaningfully improve communication products and where not to use AI.
- Coach and develop product managers to operate with clarity, conviction, and accountability.
- Maintain autonomy and ownership within the product organization, making key decisions independently.
- Promote a high standard of product management and foster a positive, mission-driven culture.
Requirements
- Experience in leading and growing a team of product managers with a player-coach mindset, including coaching and developing product managers to operate with clarity, conviction, and accountability.
- Strong product judgment, clear executive communication, and disciplined decision-making skills suitable for a senior product leadership role.
- Ability to own and manage a portfolio of customer engagement products spanning voice, digital channels, bulk messaging, routing and orchestration, and workforce engagement, ensuring reliability, resilience, and calm execution of business-critical systems.
- Experience in developing and executing a product strategy that involves deciding when to build, buy, or partner, with a focus on long-term value and strategic differentiation.
- Proven ability to run a product portfolio with clear bets, explicit trade-offs, and ruthless prioritization, and to create roadmaps that clearly explain the problem being solved, the solution, and success metrics.
- Strong point of view and experience in applying AI meaningfully to communications products, including routing and orchestration, automation, agent assistance, and workforce optimization, with an emphasis on value-first implementation.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and developing product managers to think like business owners, with a focus on structured thinking, outcome orientation, and high standards.
- Ability to operate as a highly trusted, autonomous leader within a product organization, with real ownership and decision-making authority, and the ability to form strong partnerships with peers and leadership.
- Experience in actively raising the bar for product management and organizational culture, modeling care, curiosity, and high standards to foster a positive and high-performing environment.
- Educational background or equivalent experience relevant to senior product leadership roles (specific degree requirements are not explicitly stated but implied for a senior leadership position).
