Job Description
A hands-on Data Analyst within the Analytics Engineering team, responsible for building data foundations and generating insights to support Kraken Utilities' energy and utility management platforms, working closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to drive data-driven decision making and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build data foundations and generate insights for Kraken Utilities.
- Collaborate with product teams, clients, and cross-functional teams to shape data usage.
- Develop and maintain analytics solutions to support energy and utility industry problems.
- Work closely with ML and AI teams on client-facing AI initiatives.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, weekly planning, and retrospectives to coordinate work.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data analysis and analytics engineering, with the ability to build data foundations and insights for a team of at least 6 people.
- Strong collaboration skills to work closely with product managers, client delivery teams, data engineering platform teams, and ML AI teams, including client-facing AI initiatives.
- Experience working in a hands-on analytics engineering role with ownership and impact on data projects.
- Ability to participate in daily 15-minute stand-ups, weekly planning, and periodic retrospectives, demonstrating effective communication and team collaboration.
- Experience working in an async-first environment with a hybrid London setup, indicating familiarity with remote and in-office work practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to a strong PR culture with collaborative reviews, showing attention to code quality and peer review processes.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- Experience working with data foundations, insights, and data usage across Telco or utility industries, especially in energy, water, or broadband sectors, is preferred but not explicitly mandatory.
- Ability to handle complex industry-wide problems such as customer experience water leak detection, indicating problem-solving skills in industry-specific contexts.
- Understanding of or experience with Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, meter data management, CRM, or AI-driven communications is desirable but not explicitly required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and clients, demonstrating honesty and empathy.
