Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering NPI Manager will lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for Invinity's energy storage products, working closely with cross-functional teams to improve product design, manufacturing efficiency, and standardization across global sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team to support product manufacturing development.
- Collaborate with Product Development, Strategic Purchasing, and Manufacturing Managers to improve product designs and manufacturing processes for performance and cost efficiency.
- Oversee Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Automation (DfA) of products, ensuring robust analysis and benefits before implementation.
- Coordinate with global manufacturing sites to ensure new products are implemented according to plan and with standardized processes across all locations.
Requirements
- Experience leading a Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering team that supports the development of manufacturing for products.
- Ability to work closely with Product Development, Strategic Purchasing teams, and Manufacturing Managers to ensure continuous improvement of product designs and manufacturing processes in terms of performance and costs.
- Proficiency in Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Automation (DfA) of products, including delivering robust analysis and benefits before implementation.
- Experience ensuring new products are implemented to plan and with standardized processes across multiple global manufacturing sites.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product design, and process improvement methodologies.
- Ability to support the development and roll-out of manufacturing processes and product designs at multiple sites, ensuring standardization and quality.
- Experience working with or managing manufacturing at international sites, particularly in the UK, Canada, and the U.S. (or similar global manufacturing environments).
- Experience in a leadership or senior engineering role within manufacturing or engineering environments, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate across functions.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including product development, purchasing, and manufacturing management.
- Willingness to engage with a collaborative culture and contribute to a small, growing organization with a significant impact on renewable energy projects.
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
